Reggae Website Evaluation
My website has behaviours such as a moving background and a song that have been set to automatically play on opening of the website and will repeat itself. The song can also be stopped or have the volume turned down if the viewer does not want to listen to it. I have also created a folder that holds all the posters that are shown on the website and the banner that i created. There are also a couple of youtube reggae compilation videos that have been embedded on to the website through their codes.
The website has been made available to view on both google chrome and safari. The primary image of my banner and poster are PNG files like the rest of the secondary posters that are on my website and have the names of who made them. All the secondary images of the reggae artists are all JPEG files and are interactive so viewers can see the images better and the names of the artists. The website has a simple navigation bar that takes views to all the different pages of the website.
I have also added a contact page with a contact form that viewers can use to send feedback on the posters and the website. A blogger icon with a link to my blog has been added as well.
I have used tools such as the app market to find templates of contact forms in order to create my own. I have also used tools that have allowed me to embed videos and images. the background is a moving image from wix that was found in the background tab.
Besides the the world reggae being on the website i am sure the audience will notice the website is about reggae by the posters and the music playing on the website. the colours and background can also give the audience that warm and relaxed feeling that reggae gives.
My vision for this is to also create awareness for reggae music like the brief requests. I feel like creating a website the holds many creative posters that are inspired by reggae music is a great way to attract an audience and have others get involved and show there impressions on reggae music.
Other elements such as the embedded songs is used to give viewers the opportunity to listen to reggae music to see if they like it or encourage them to bring reggae into their lives. This is really useful for people who haven't heard reggae music before.
From the screenshots i have taken the folders i created were to help keep images and everyone's posters organised making importing them onto the website a more simpler task.
I decided to structure my galley page by having a few pictures of different reggae artists that interactive to show their names, Then i put some posters down underneath that were inspired by these artists and to show that reggae is more than just music.
All tabs on that i have listed on navigation bar are necessary tabs that are important for my website and all have a role to play. I made sure that all content on each page has been aligned and kept within the grid that was provided by wix when working on the website.
I have previewed my website multiple times while editing it to make sure that i would run smoothly once it had been published. Regularly checking my website helped me make sure that all the images were in place, the moving background worked and the embedded songs without any problems.
2B.P5 (Pass) You have created appropriate graphics for a digital media product that adequately communicate the intended message of a Reggae Poster Competition brief.
ReplyDeleteGood Ricardo - with your screenshots it is clear that you have completed your website using a range of graphic design techniques.
To improve:
You need to explain how you have designed your poster/website and used tools to design technical elements specifically to communicate your message – which is what? See brief.
How does the audience know that this website/poster’s purpose has been designed to celebrate reggae music.
the changes and additions i have made are in red
ReplyDeleteThank you Ricardo - to push for Merit we need a bit more detail. Show off how you used certain technical element, talk about your vision for the website. Be specific when talking about colour schemes, images, etc. How does all of this suit the needs of the brief - celebrating reggae music.
ReplyDeleteThe additions i have made start from the paragraph with the beginning 'My vision'
