Unit 5/14 part 2 task 1c

                        Legal, moral and ethical issues

One of the issues that may occur is copyright. I could get a copy right strike for some of the games I may take pictures of or any shops I take pictures of. To solve this I will have to ask for permission from the companies of those games or shops if it is ok to take some pictures and use them in my articles. If they agree then I can use the pictures if not then I will have to find something else. I also cannot give a false representation of a shop or game to make it look bad or like something it is not. To stop that from happening I will give clear truthful information on the game or the shop if I decide to talk about it. I will also not write any offensive material that could reflect badly on my examples or discredit them.

I also need to consider health and safety for myself and others when taking pictures in public. For this I will make sure that if I am using a camera with a tripod to stand and keep it stable I will make sure that it is placed somewhere that people cannot trip over it and get hurt. Also if I am taking pictures in a handheld style I will have to be aware of my surroundings to not cause any collisions and hurt someone. For health and safety I also need to fill out a risk assessment noting all locations I will be taking my shots at and not down the different dangers to watch out for. This can include people, equipment or even the surrounding environment.  

Privacy is another issue for this one I will not take shots that of people if they don’t want to have a picture taken. Most of my shots will not involve other people but if I accidentally have someone walk in to one of my shots I will retake the shot and delete the original and any other shot that was taken at that time. For the article I will not use the shots taken to advertise the company in any way. All shots will be for the article not for advertising reasons unless that is the only way I can use those images.

With my interviews I will respect the privacy of my interviewees and not pry into any bad experiences they may have had when gaming if they don’t want to talk about it. 

With one of my two articles being about gamers and their personalities. The article will not have any discrimination saying that these type of people are mean or this ethnic group are gamers who talk foul language to others. With the articles avoiding racial discrimination the articles will also avoid sexual discrimination by including both male and female gamers. I will also not talk down on the equal rights that everyone has when it comes to playing games. I will also be honest about the type of games young people should be playing a certain ages.
